Riteish Deshmukh
Early Years:

Ritesh’s first brush with acting came when he joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, New York, in the United States. However, when he came back to India he did not take the plunge into acting in films straightaway. He did some architectural work before cinematographer Kabir Lal suggested his name to director K Vijaya Bhaskar.


Debut:

K Vijay Bhaskar’s movie Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003) became Ritesh’s launch pad to Hindi film industry in 2003, which proved to be an average film.


Career Graph:

After his debut, Riteish was starred in Out of Control (2003), followed by Masti (2004) which did reasonably well at the box office. His latest film and Apna Sapna Money Money (2006) has become quite popular and is attracting a lot of attention from the audiences. He became a known face after the comedy Masti for which established him as an actor. He has mainly taken on comic roles, rather than serious roles.

Of his latest films, he had hits with Bluffmaster (2005) and Kya Kool Hain Hum (2005) and Malamaal Weekly (2006) all of which were comedy roles. He also appeared in the horror film Darna Zaroori Hai (2006).

Riteish will be next seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Aladdin with Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt.
