Salman Khan stands true to his words

Feb 08, 2010

Salman Khan stood true to his words. He had announced valiantly that if Veer fails, he would take the responsibility of it. And he's doing just that. To recover the cost of the film, which went haywire from the first day itself, Salman has agreed to do another film with Producer Vijay Gilani.

A source revealed that Veer was a very difficult project to make. Throughout the making, Salman and the director Anil Sharma kept having differences. It was Galani who would intervene and try to find a common ground. His motive was to wrap the film as soon as possible and not go way over budget. However, it opened well in single screens but didn't do well in the big towns and multiplexes. Galani is planning another film with Salman. Not only has Salman reduced his fee but also plans to cooperate and make sure the project don't get delayed. Salman has realised that his fans hold him responsible no matter which banner or producer he works with. Even after the debacle of Main Aurr Mrs Khanna he came out and agreed it wasn't a film he wanted to make.

Even though the project is concealed, an announcement will be made soon. It's not a period film, but a very contemporary love story. Salman has already given his verbal commitment to the producer. When asked if he's doing another film, Galani said that at the moment, there are no plans. In the future, they might work on something. Talking about the response to Veer, he added that the film has been profitable to all his distributors. It has done incredibly well in single screen theatres, not so much in multiplexes.
