Asin gets Salman, not Deepika
Asin has bagged another film opposite Salman Khan after London Dreams. A source reveals that Asin (and not Deepika Padukone, as recent reports suggested) has bagged the Anees Bazmee film Thank You.
The film, a Bhushan Kumar production, will be a remake of hit South film Ready. Salman and Asin grew quite close on the sets of Vipul Shah's London Dreams during the making of the film. Even though the film tanked, Salman stayed in touch with Asin. There was buzz that he had even helped her get an apartment in the suburbs.
Sources also reveal that Salman was instrumental in getting Asin the project. The original is a Telugu film that starred south actor Ram and Genelia in the lead roles. It was one of the highest grossing films of 2008 and is a romantic comedy. Anees Bazmee plans to retain several funny sequences from the original in the remake.
Bhushan Kumar of T-Series confirmed the development saying that they are producing the film and it goes on floor in June. Talks are on but he can't comment on the casting.
